Need some advice
I am new to the board and recently purchased a 1972 CST Blazer 4X4
It has quite a bit off underbody rust (rockers, rocker boxes, tub and bed floor) and needs some work. I starting to think I made the wrong decision I am not going to do any work to it right now, but I recently found 2 wheel drive rust free rolling chassis up in Michigan. I'm going up to Michigan this weekend to look at it. So this is where i need some advice. He says it is rust free and straight. The underbody and interior have been blasted and coated. (underbody looks clean) No engine, tranny or transfer case. It has been converted from 4wd to 2wd. Interior is really rough. Single wall top. GMC front clip and tailgate. He is asking $3500...$3000 without the front clip which I don't need. How much do you all think it is worth????? Thanks |

With no interior or engine and since it is a converted 4wd, I would guess in the $1,500-2,500 range, depending on how much is there. You would basically be buying a tub.
Do you know how the frame was converted to 2wd? Did they keep the leaf springs in the back or go to the trailing arm suspension? Are you thinking about doing a body swap and putting that body on the 4wd frame or fixing up the 2wd? What was it coated with after blasting? This is just my guess and actual prices may vary in your area.

The underbody was coated with POR15 after it was blasted. I believe it has the original leaf spring still on the back. I attached some photos of the the tub and underbody.
I am undecided on what I would do with it....I would either but the rust free body on my 4x4 chassis or......through my front axle and transfer case back under this new chassis and convert it back to 4 wheel drive. I am not interested in a 2wd blazer. I guess I would just try to part out what ever is remaining. |

Tub
Passenger side outer rocker/front door pillar looks kinda interesting...is that a repair? Are the windshield and gasket included? The windshield can be tough to get out with out cutting the gasket...or breaking the glass
Check over the firewall and cowl sides for rust evidence too. Wanna sell the single wall top if you get it? |

If that is the original seat in the
picture it looks like a rare option called "Highlander". Looks like the gray plaid. Mine is blue plaid. It was made in red/orange and green also. If you don't want the seat old covers I will take thaem off your hands for the plaid inserts. Joe http://www.petersbros.com/BLAZER/index.html
