Yes, mostly on the 6 cylinder powered models as well as the base models.

so will a manuel box bolt in bolt in place of a powered one?
ie. same size

lol my base model custum deluxe is nuts; Southern Chevrolet spec'ed even base models with numerous options. i have power steering, a/c, silver trimmed dash bezel, and cool step bumper to name a few.

My 1982 CD stepside 6 cyl had PS added after the truck was bought because it was a bear to drive w/o it. That truck had a 4 speaker AM/FM cassette stereo factory, tach and gauges (were these available with a 6? They worked) and little else.

my sierra has light duty brakes, hd springs...and our 77 scottsdale had heavy duty 1 ton front brakes and light duty 1 ton rears, it was an odd truck but ran good

Both my 77 K-10, 79 C-10 came with power steering.
