hey everybody. new to the board. i've got a 72 k5 my dad bought brand new. i bugged him since the day i turned 15 to let me have it. low and behold, the pink slip was the only thing i got for my college graduation present. i've been fixing it up over the last year and a half, but still have a ways to go.

i put 2 inch T.C. springs on the front and blocks in the rear. the rear springs are shot anyway, so with 2 inch blocks, it doesnt sit level at all. i'm thinking about going with new springs, but dont want a really harsh ride (for a 32 year old truck...). i've heard rear springs out of a late 80's k5 ride much better and are the same length. has anybody used 89 or later k5 springs and maybe a 3 inch block? how does that ride? thanks

ON 69-72 K5 BLAZERS YOU HAVE TO OFFSET THE LIFT TO MAKE IT SIT
LEVEL WITH THE TOP ON, BECAUSE IT IS HEAVY AS HELL, IF YOU WANT
IT LEVEL WITH THE TOP OFF USE SAME SIZE LIFT FRONT AND REAR, OR
YOU CAN JUST DO WHAT EVER LOOKS BEST TO YOU, MINE IS A 4/6.

Not sure about the late model springs fitting the rear. I think there is a difference in the width of the springs. Anyways, congrats on your graduation present, its the best thing anyone could ever get, haha. Welcome the the board from Kentucky!

Welcome to the board. Post pictures of your truck when you get a chance and please fill out your profile. You never know if a board member is just around the corner from you with either the help or the part you need.

As far as lifts go, a lot of people will run a slightly bigger lift in the back to off set the "saggy-butt" syndrome. I'm sure your stock springs are tired and sagging more than they did originally. You may look into running a 3" or 4" block in the rear. If you want a smoother ride, you should get lifted springs and eliminate the blocks. I have heard that the superlifts are some of the nicest rides. Helper springs in the rear are another way to gain lift, but you'll definately get a stiffer ride.
