Urethane front end kits
I am looking to upgrade my 1967 Chevy 1/2 ton front suspension to urethane front end parts. I have found urethane kits for 1973's on up, but nothing on 1967 to 1972 trucks. My question is can I use 1973 front end kits. The parts look as if they are interchangeable and would fit with no problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Not unless you put in a 73 up complete x-member. Why do you want urethane? If you want a firmer suspension I don't think urethane is firmer than steel. Thats what is in there now.

Ha, ha...... , funny. No, I am looking to upgrade to urethane bushings, tie rod ends, bump stops etc. I was just wondering if I can use the 1973 urethane kits like the one pictured below.

Once again NO, the only thing out of that kit that will work on 67-72 are bump stop and sway bar bushings

I know what the picture shows but is that what you get when it is listed for 73 up?
Probably they just used a stock photo. I know some places use a photo with a disclaimer.

This is the photo that is used on the www.p-s-t.com web site for 2wd 1/2 ton pickups. I was unable to find any disclaimers on there site about "picture does not represent all kits".
Thought, if you guys know of a place that makes this kind of suspension kit for our 1967-1972 pickups, I would appreciated any information on them.

I would call and ask PST if I was you. I have their kit for my truck (86' C10) and it doesn't have screw-in control arm bushings.

Now I am wondering if the 1973 urethane parts will work with my stock A-Arms on my 1967. I noticed in one of the other threads that the 1967-1972 A-Arms can use upper and lower ball joints from 1973 on up. If this is true then I will be upgrading to all 1973 components (except for shafts and A-Arms). It seems that no one makes urethane kits or urethane components for our 1967-1972 pickups. P-S-T said they don’t make any urethane kits for the 1967-72 trucks. I am kind of at a stand still on what to do next… I would really like to have urethane components (to help aid in handling). Any information on what is needed to update my stock 1967 front end to1973 front components would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Dude, you're not seeing the whole picture here.
You want Urethane so the truck will handle better? The reason Urethane handles better than stock rubber is because it's stiffer, right? Your truck has steel bushings. Steel is stiffer than either rubber or urethane. You want the best handling? You've got it with your stock type of bushings. The only reason that GM quit using them was because they ride a little worse than the rubber later model ones.

Ok, sorry you guys, I said that incorrectly in the beginning. What I meant to say was; I will use standard steel lower control arm bushings with urethane booties.
Also, remember that all of these parts are cast iron or forged steel, with the addition of Urethane between the points of contact and that no structural parts have ever been made purely from urethane....that would be very unwise. What I was trying to ask was can I use my stock A-Arms and still use the 1973 kits.....this means updating everything except my A-Arms, shafts and bushings. It seems that it can be done from what eveyone has told me in the last few days. The A-Arms are interchangable between years, but I have to replace everything else, such as; Upper and lower ball joints, spindles, tie rods, rotors, calipers, idler arm and anything else I forgot to mention.
