parts picking thread!

the car will be sold soon. so.... i really need help picking out what front end kit to get. here is everything else i'm gonna be getting:

3" djm spindles
2" djm coils
2" shackles(what brand??)
Western Chassis c-notch

also, will i need new shocks?? i forgot what drop mine are for(mike???) but they are DT's and i've ran them on my 4/5.5 and mike on his 4/5.
if i do need new shocks, what edelbrock mono tube shocks would i need to get for a 5/7 drop?

and for the front end kit, i want to replace every bushing that i can replace up there. polygraphite. i also want to replace all the other parts that would need it that are/could be worn(idler arm, pitman arm, etc...)

oh yeah, i gotta replace my spindles because jon and i screwed up and didnt grease the wheel bearings enough and one started to dig into the spindle on my drivers side. so i figure since i have to replace it, why not go lower ?

Here's what I would do.

Call http://www.performancesuspension.com/ and tell them what you are doing. They will have every part you need and this way it's less looking and buying from different places. I'm not sure on the shocks. Tell them the DT part number and they can tell you if they will work or not.

Edelbrock doesn't make any drop shocks for our trucks.

Rear: 4163g
Front: 4052g

they show that with that combination i can run a 3/4 drop. but.... for 88+ trucks, it shows that 4163g will work on a 5/7 drop for the rear....

That doesn't sound right...I have 4095g on the rear (with a 5" Flip Kit + Shock Extenders) and 4052g's on the front (with a 3" spindle, also works with a 2" drop spring)

I have a new set of Doetsch Tech shocks if you are interested.

Same as Tim's setup: two 4095g's (brand new) and two 4052g's (on my truck for two months, driven on the weekends).

What's 88+ have to do with anything?

Call them and ask them what you need. They will be able to tell you for sure what shocks will work with your planned combo.
