I want to lower the front a bit more and was thinking about making the cup inside the lower control arm lower. Right now it is even with the buttom of it. Just wondering what is the most i should do? Or should i even do it at all, would it be safe having it lower then the bottom, or am i just asking for trouble? Anyone ever done this and had problems? I need all the input i can. Thanks.

My old roomate had dropped control arms on his 65. The spring cup on one of them caught the lip of a city manhole cover in the ground & promptly stopped the truck . . .... after jamming the bottom of the bed into the cab, the bottom of the front fenders into the cab, & destroying the arm/that side of the frame.

Dropped spindles.

I agree with Scoti. Anything hanging below the "scrub line" is a bad bad idea.

It can be done, but you don't get enough drop (Safely) for the work involved.
You could make a support going from the front edge of the lower control arm down to the extended cup to give it more of a "ramp" rather than the solid bang from the side of the lowered cup. I doubt if you could get more than 1.5"-2". If that's all you want it can be done......

I ground through 2 sets of controlarms on my 80 blazer in 1.5 years so I wouldn't want the cups any lower
