but- i need to do the same thing to my truck.. how hard was it to mask everything off? Rather that do rattle can (im extremely impatient) I think im gonna buy a quart or two of primer and shoot it on with a spray gun... what did you do (if anything) to prep the surface?

got any before pics?

before pic, we refinanced the house and didn`t get enough extra for a new garage. now i got to keep saving and it was killing me letting it set outside. masking is no problem, when i do it right i will remove parts and do it flat black.

FYI, without paint, primer doesn't protect the metal. It'll still rust with just primer.

thanks, tires are 31.50/10.50 but i`ve balded them out and need to get new ones. i think i`ll go with a 245/60 next since i want to do a 4/6 drop soon.

don't do primer. thats the dumbest waste of money to do just primer. Your gonna have to RE primer it when it comes time to paint as the primer in all likleyhood will be too worn or beat up to do any good. I can't stand seeing vehicles riding around in primer. If your gonna spend the money for primer, instead buy some other cheap paint to tide you over, and rattlecan, while just as goofy, is a better salution than primer.

i`ve already got the etching and 2k primer and flat paint to do it right but don`t have time or space to do so. yeah i`ll have to sand it all back off next year or so when i get a garage up but it looks better for now, and was only $25.
