lower a 4x4 1987 suburban

. I just got a 1987 suburban 1500 4x4 rebuilt motor and trans with 60k on them got it for a $1,000.00 not bad. well I would like to lower it so this is what I need help with can I lower a 4x4 and if I can how far I would like to do a 4 to 5 drop in the front so thanks for the help (I posted this in the 73-87 bord but then I saw the 73-91 suburbans spot so some help thanks

can I pull off the frount drive shaft or put blocks under it I do not know thanks

Sell it and buy a 2wd. You will have to flip the axles under the springs and you're probably looking at at least a 6" drop I would think.

how will that work the axal look's like it was made to sit on top.but 6'" is ok with me

you should raise it instead since you got a 4x4...i'll trade you my 2wd! you need big wheels for your burb...

you can only lower the front so far as the diff will come in contact with your oil pan, the rear can be lowered like any other truck. they do make flip kits to put the axle over the springs... but the front can only be lowered a few inches... not 6... you would have sever clearance and steering issues...
