I used too until I moved up here. I went to Sam's to get a couple 5 gallon bottles of peanut oil, and it would have costed almost $30.00. So I ended up making a couple drunk chickens on the grille.

We've been Deep Frying them along with Chicken wings, and Chicken strips for quite some time..
You can't beat the tenderness and flavor.... Be sure you filter the oil everytime, and it will get you lots of fryings.... |

We do it all the time, a few times a year at home and we use it a lot at the NASCAR races. We cook chickens and wings too. We have a smaller pot too for fish. We usually fill one with water for corn on the cob. We have even use them for boiling rib slabs before grilling. The basket will allow bunches of french fries at one time too.........It takes a lot of work to feed 25-30 drunken goofs at one time...3 meals a day for 4 days. We usually end with a turkey after the race is over. It takes hours to get out of the infield.

I do, best way to go for turkey, especially with the cajun injected seasoning. Next to that is beer can chicken with coca cola based BBQ sauce.

I had my first one today. We always get a smoked turkey instead. It did taste good, but it was ugly as hell when it came out of the grease. It looked like the bird on Christmas Vacation....

I tried it last week it was great, injected it with garlic and it only took one hour to cook it.

For those of you who have been converted to fry cookers on turkey day, also try short ribs. Almost meat you like baked, broiled, or BBQ'd is excellent deep fried, you just have to adjust the cooking time for the type and cut of meet.

My dad and I always cook a couple on thanksgiving day, and if Im on a long break from college usually cook one up as well. We like to use the cajun and mesquite injection and a dry rub on top of that. The key is to strain the oil after every use. You can really save your oil, and this way it doesn't cost so much to replace. Besides the good food its good comrodery (sp), nothing like throwing back a few cold ones with the old man.

Was home from Turkey for Turkey day, this is the third year cooking it that way. We used the Cajun injection this year, was great. About the only way I can see eating turkey. Notice, we are not under an overhang or in the garage, see we Arkansans ain't too damn crazy,

Yeah, that F&rd belongs to my brother. I am the last hold out I guess because in the garage is a 04 F350 that pulls that big a$$ fifth wheel. Seems the whole family is gone to the other side.
