I-6 guys
Ok heres the problem. I just put all new gaskets on my 250 and both side covers seem to have an annoying leak. She leaves a good half dollar sized puddle everytime I park her. I was just wondering if this was a common problem on these 6's or maybe I just over tightend them? Can anyone recommend a good gasket, or a good way to fix this problem? Thanks in advance!

In know both my side covers leaked on my 250 when I had it. I found out that I over tightened them and it cause the edges to lift, and leak. I removed the covers, worked em back into shape, replaced them and never had a problem after that.

The covers should be domed in the middle, to where when you tighten the bolts, the center domed part puts pressure on the edges.
Also, make sure you're using good grommets around the side cover bolts too. A lot of times, it's the bolts leaking that is the culprit.

The side covers I bought from a board member awhile back and they apeared to be in good shape before I put them on, and the gaskets around the bolts also apear to be in pretty good shape. I guess it's a possablity that I overtightened the bolts, but I've changed enough gaskets in the past without a problem...
They also apear to be leaking from the corners. I think only 1 corner on each cover... Hope this helps...
