67-72 drop springs and leafs on a 79, will it work?
I put a WTB on the 73-87 chevy board for 4" drop springs and leafs. The problem is that I think that it would be more likely that I could land them on the 67-72 parts board. Question is, are the 67-72's drop equipment compatible with the 79's? I would tend to think they might be since a lot of the internal stuff on most Chevy's are sometimes compatible. What are your thoughts?
Thanks in advance, Larry

Anybody? I'm not sure that they even make drop leafs for 67-72's but the springs look to be the same.

isn't that truck a 3/4 ton???
my guess is no....check "Posie's" - but your looking at big bucks.... they normall do a flip axel kit - put the axel on the top side of the springs..unless it is already there

Thanks Andy, and yes it's a 3/4 ton. I've been toying with the idea of holding onto the 79 and just fixing it. It shouldn't take a lot to get it road worthy.
For fun I was thinking of doing a drop on it and chopping the roof off to make it a permanent convertible ![]() Anyway, I think that i've seen it done before on a lwb so I think that I can get it done. Here's hoping. I'll see if anyone can post some pics on the 73-87 board.

Well, with half-ton, I know the leaves won't work. Half-ton '67-'72 leaf springs are about 1/4" narrower than later model (and, apparently, 4WD '67-'72!) leaf springs. Don't know if that applies to 3/4 ton.
