Temp/Pressure Sender Installation
I need to install three senders for my new guage cluster, but unfortunately, I have no other trucks or engines to reference for the correct installation location. I'm also starting with a new crate engine (454 Big Block Chev) so I have no hits there either.
#1) Temp. Sender for Water - Where should this be installed? I see a plug next to the thermostat housing, but I read somewhere that it should be in head. #2) Temp. Sender for Transmission - Turbo 400. Not sure where to install....Any hints? #3) Oil Pressure for Engine - I see a plug on the left, front side of the engine, under the exhaust manifolds...Is this where this should be installed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Rick |

#1--install in head.
#2--You will have to remove trans pan and weld in bung for sender. #3--install in hole above oil filter .

What he said, but on #2 you can get a fitting that will allow you to install it in the pan without the welding, if you prefer.
