fuel gauge

reads fine when keys off. but when you turn the key on it go's to empty. any help thanks .

my 81 did that it said that i was full then shut if off then it gave me half. no help sorry shane.

Other threads on this indicate a bad ground or gauge not connected right.

My guage moves when I turn my key off/on, and also moves when I turn off/on my headlights. I know for a fact the wiring TO the guage is good, but haven't checked the guage itself yet...
