4x4 steering box question
Hello, I few months back someone stole my 86 Wrangler 4x4 and when I got the truck back, the PS box and pump was missing Is it possible to put a 2wd box from a factory 454 shortbox(77) into my Wrangler? Or will I have to find a 4x4 box? Thanks

2wd and 4wd boxes are not interchangable

A 2wd and 4wd are identical except for the sector shaft. All you need to do is switch out the sector shaft to make a 4wd box a 2wd box and vice versa. If you have a good deal on a 2wd box then go ahead and get it. Then just o to your local junkyard and pick up a sector shaft from a 4wd box and swap it in. Let me know if you need one. I may be able to find one for you fairly simple.
