2/4 drop question

i got a 83 swb 2wd i'm wanting to do a 2/4 drop with spindles and the rear shackle kit thing...

my question is...i've heard people say you have to cut out part of the bottom of your bed?

is this right?....

where's the cheapest place to get this kit?

There should be no bed cutting required with a 4 inch rear drop

It depends on the manufacturer of the parts. Some require notching the bed support directly above the shackle, some don't.

I used BellTech shackles from Summit & didn't have to notch anything.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Really? That's strange...I got the Summit brand ones, and it does require notching...

It's pretty hard to beat Summit racing on parts.

I have a 2/4 right now, and it's no where near coming to the rear fender on my fleetside. I went with tires 1" shorter than stock, and still have about 4 1/2-5" to go. and I'm running 295/50 tires.
