Need to move the truck around. Problem is I took the dash apart (proud of myself) and the line going to the oil pressure gauge is open. Would rather not remove and plug it from under the hood, and don't want to put the gauge back on 'cause it might get banged up.
Any ideas?

Pinch the line off(fold it back over itself) then tape or wiretie the snot out of it. I do this @ the dairy I work @ all the time w/air lines w/@ least 30-50psi of air w/no probs, but only for a short period.

Get a small piece of hose, clamp a bolt into one end, and clamp the other end onto the line.
If you fold the line, you WILL replace it.

Ooops. . . I was thinking flex line. Use a small section of hd vacuum line w/a machine screw & the smallest clamp that will hold it in place. When my line broke apart on the hiway many yrs ago I just put some electrical tape on the end of it & held it in place w/my finger. . . not the best way but it got me home.

Remove guage from bezel, hook up line, wrap guage in an old towel or bubble wrap to keep it from banging around.

Dissconnect it from the motor. Since you have it apart this is a good time to inspect it. It may need replaceing anyway, and it aways sucks to buy a motor because you didn't check the oil line.
Don't laugh I know two people who killed their motor because the oil line died,it takes about two minutes to pump 5 quarts on the ground thru that little sucker.

If you disconnect it from the engine, I think all you'll need is a 1/8 NPT plug to cap it off temporarily. Beware though, it will be full of oil and may want to drain back into the cab.
You may also be able to buy a plug or cap for the piece inside. Try your local hardware store.

Run the line in to a breather hole on top of the valve pan conver and let the oil flow.
