Ign Scratch Guard

I am in the process of figuring out a way to make a scratch guard out of plexiglass for the dash type ign switch. The painted area under the switch actually.

If I can get it to where I like it I will post pics and detail how I did it. . .

Welcome to the board from across the lake! Sounds like a good project to work on... maybe I could stop using a thin piece of mole skin.

this also works on the inside of door opening to keep it from rusting when you rest your arm there

Welcome from Michigan as well.

Automotive paint suppliers will usually have a clear plastic film to protect a cars painted surface from stone chips. The stuff that I have used in the past for this same application is called Rhino. It works great and is not very noticable.

good luck

Thanks for the tips. Makes me think that maybe a chunk of clear packaging tape would work just as good as the clear film. Guess the plexi was a bit overkill.
