Carb recommendations?
My q-jet is trash, so I need to replace it. Ain't got a lot of money to spend, so what do I need to get for my stock 350 four barrel?

I bought a replacement qjet from autozone for $145. It has the qjet casing BUT was rebuilt by Holley. You can also get Edelbrock ones too. Shipping took about a week but, it bolted right on. Big improvement from the stock one, that I had just rebuilt.

Perhaps you can get a builder from a junkyard for cheap. Seems like someone on here was trying to sell some running q-jets for $25 each not too long ago.

I just recently saw Q-jets on Advance auto parts website for about $135 for rebuilt ones. That's pretty cheap if you don't feel like rebuilding one. A new Edelbrock will run about $260. You can check ebay also.

Holley vs Edelbrock vs Q-jet
Through my experiences with carbs, I personally like my Holley Street Avenger. The best carb for mileage is a Q-jet if you can find somebody that is REALLY good at rebuilding them. They're also the cheapest. I don't buy ANYTHING rebuilt from Advance Auto or Auto Zone anymore (gotten too much junk, that's why they have "competitive" prices).
Edelbrocks are pretty good carbs for the money. Make sure you have a clean gas tank, they go to crap if you get trash or any varnished gas in them. Mine almost got me run over when it puked right when I stabbed it to pull into traffic. Holleys are a bit pricey, but their good performance carbs. Gas mileage usually suffers with a Holley though. The best carb I've ever had was a 500 Edelbrock with a manual choke on a stock 350. When I go back through my engine with a bigger cam and head work, I'm going with a 650 Speed Demon with vacuum secondaries. This is only my opinion, everybody else has one too. Good luck on your desicion.

Eldelbrock are oky if they are manual choke. I would not reccomend one. I hate My 1406 I have on the 84. Should have gone with a holley street avanger.
But you sill can not go wrong with a good rebuilt Q jet. I'm also going with a 650 Speed Demon with vacuum secondaries on the 67, Because they look trick and I have heard lots of good comments about them.

When my q-jet died I bought a used edelbrock 1406 from ebay. Right out of the box, I installed it on my truck and its running great.
