'53 chevy 3100 16" wheels tire suggestions?
6.00 X 16 - six ply < - books and restoration packet claims this was the tire for the 16 inch wheel.
http://hardin.home.mindspring.com/1953/1953.html <- this is dad's truck by the way - '53 chevy... So, pop has soem 16 inch wheels, sandblasted and painted and wants to get some tires for it. Now, this isn't a show truck, it's a beat up truck at the moment that he wants to drive now and then... basically it is his tinker toy. So, any good brands, places to go for low priced decent tires? It has the inline six('57 235) and three on the tree, original driveline... tips, suggestions welcome. What tires did you put on your truck? Did you use the original wheels? thanks, -W |

Scrap the bias and get a set of either: LT215/85R or P225/75R and use the original rims w/o tubes. Your dad will be glad he made the switch to radials.
