78 running gear in a 69 LWB?
Greetings all,
I am about to get a 78 cheyanne that is wrecked. It has a 454/TH400 in it. I was thinking of swapping out the rear end(14bolt) and the front disk brakes into my 69 C20. What do I need to be aware of in this swap??? ANy thoughts, Ogier

motor/tranny/front end will work, but i am not sure about the rear end. are 3/4 tons coil sprung? cause if they are then it wont work. i think i read that the width is different. but let a pro help you with the rear end

I am hoping to get the 3.27 gears in my truck to replace the 5.13's that it currently has.
I haven't decided if I am going to replace the caddy motor or not with the 454. I might have to save the 454 for a street rod. Maybe a T-bucket or something... Ogier

Shouldn't be anything a welder won't fix.

Well, I have 3 welders and a torch. A bunch of hammers ranging from tiny to all out adjustment size...
Perhaps this won't be so bad. I am thinking of stretching the frame out 8" and adding it to the cab behind the seat while I am at it. Seeing as how I need to have my driveline altered, it seems like a good time to do it. Hey Pont and Super Duck, Ya all wanna come help?

I could be wrong, but I don't think the newer Th400 gas pedal kickdown will work on a 69 pedal. Might possibly have to buy a 68-70 kickdown from a board vendor to make it work??
