need help with a/c compressor & hoses.
I need to buy a compressor for our 85 K10 with 350...compressor missing....I get 2 choices for the new one, electric plug at 9 or 12 o'clock position. Which one is correct for the 85 truck. Pictures of the a/c lines, drier, compressor plug & mounting would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Greg

My '86 has the plug at the 9 o'clock position, if that helps any.
FYI, everytbody I know has problems with the $100 rebuilt compressors. They last about one summer, sometimes two if you are lucky. I bought a NEW R4 locally for $220 or $240, I don't remember exactly. Depending on what you plan to do with the truck, it might be worth the investment. You might also consider buying a Sanden and the appropriate brackets. A friend (who designed the Vintage Air system for our trucks), runs a Sanden on his V8 S10 and says it puts less of a load on the engine. I think Alan Grove sells a sanden bracket. If you need any specific pics, please let me know. I know Kevin Shortell has some pics of his '86. I have seen him post them before. Slonaker |

Thanks for the info. I could use pictures of how the compressor brackets mount, and a picture or 2 of the hoses/ drier. I need to find most of these items to install on ours. Greg

If you don't have what you need in the next day or two, PM me. I am at work, and will probably forget by the time I get home.
I have some photos of the A/C brackets that I took when I removed/cleaned/painted mine. I'll have to take new photos of the hoses and drier. Slonaker |

Some of these shouold be helpful...
http://slonaker.net/images/truck/gregbr/ I'll leave them up until you tell me you got them, but please save them to your hard drive so I can pull them down. (Right click image, "save picture as..."). These have been resized. I can provide larger copies if needed. Slonaker |

P.S. I'm going to have to get around to taking a new photo under the hood. I've cleaned it up a bit already- new plug wires, coolant hoses, etc.

I'm glad they helped. I thought they might. I took them so that I could remember how to put the brackets back on.
