Talking no more 4x4

traded the 4x4 on 40's for a new ride. needs some attention but its got potential. its got a mild 308, cobra intake, pro m mass air, full exhaust, just bolt ons mainly, c4 trans, 5 lug conversion, subframes, ss lowers, 3.73's. doesn't feel fast compared to the '84 but i will fix that in due time. first on the list is new wheels and some paint. has a 5 lug conversion so some bullit wheels will be thrown on. gonna be a fun project. best part is it has COLD a/c, which is a new expireance for me, none of my last several vehicles have had it.

i have a 92 fox body notchback in the yard... it only has the 4 banger and auto, but with gas at over $2.00+ a gallon, that might be the best way to go now with my 20 min drive to town.. truck is sucking down gas like crazy.. but wifes ex (as it was hers before we got together).. jacked it all up...comp is fried... motor mount busted and trans is slippin...

yeesh, you and Eric used to be cool. look at you now, driving Mudstains. :screwy:

doesnt look like a bad car though. i've tossed around the idea of a Fox body a few times, but i prefer the notchbacks myself. EVERYBODY and their mom has a hatchback around here.

I like Fox bodies... my cousin has had a buttload of them for the longest time... his last one had a 348 stroker motor with many a mods.... it was running 11 flat easily, and still could have some more speed dialed in.

The cam was beyond lumpy... and it would light em up going into third... and had a rather stiff tranny. Man that was a badass car

I love Fox bodies.

im not much for fords but one car i miss right now b/c of the high ass gas prices is my old 87 LX 4 cyl/aod hatchback.it wasnt quick by any stretch of the imagination and on the freeway 65 was about it if your lucky but in town driving is obviously where that car shined.if the tranny hadnt went in it and i sold it to the junkyard i honestly would still drive it.flame me if you want and i used to make fun of my dad when he bought before he sold it to me until i drove it for about two weeks and all the money i saved.

I can not say much. I have the '31 2-door Sedan my Dad gave me. But that '31 runs good and gets about 24 miles to the gallon or more. I have not been able to find the Air Conditiner controls yet? Oh yel, he said to just open the winshield and roll down the windows. You do get a lot of nice air with the windshield pushed open. That was all you had back in "those" days. But it is really not all that bad on hot days. Just having too much fun driving it.

i could have easily put a/c on the 4x4, but i didn't want to. i had fun building the truck but i never put it to use, i figured why drive it around as a poser, so i traded it to somebody who will beat the hell out of it like i built it to do. i only had it for 6 months and i took it from a non-running former hunting truck to rolling on 40's with 3/4 ton axles, all new suspension and steering, it drove like a dream. but why keep it if i'm not gonna use it. as for the ford bashing, i'm not brand loyal at all. i'll own and work on anything thats appealing to me. i've wanted one of these cars for awhile so when the opportunity to trade came up i jumped on it. i'll own many more chevys and fords and whatever else catches my eye before my time is up

you guys can poke fun all you want, but in about 6 months this car will leave about 99.5% of the trucks on this forum (even mine) in its dust. and do it with decent milage and a/c

If you need the clearance there is a guy in Wylie that makes a great cowl hood for those cars. The company is ABC exclusive, and they advertise in a lot of the mustang magazines. I have used a few of his hoods, and they fit great.

Congrats on the trade Ryan. Too bad you never got to wheel the truck though. Did you trade it in CS or up here?

ryan, the guy was from fort worth so i ended up meeting him in waco for the trade. i figured if i wasn't gonn use it i might as well pass it on to someone who would.

eric, i've already got some grey bullets on the way for it. i was going to go with the blacks but i'm going to have the car painted and i might not go back with black. the grey bullets will look good with pretty much any color
