Amp Gauge Help
I need help,The amp gauge on my 70 didnt work when I got it. I replaced it, still no luck.I have since installed a different tach dash with yet a different gauge and still no luck. The alternator died so I replaced it and the regulator,I understand the gauge feeds off the regulator, nothing yet. Wiring looks good. Any ideas. Thanks

Actually the ammeter gets its signal from the main power feed wire that runs from the terminal on the right fender to the firewall. It senses the current flow in the wire based upon the resistance so it works on really low power. The two wires going to the ammeter are connected to the main feed wire on both sides of the radiator. The fused connectors look like small black rubber footballs and they can be pulled apart for access to the fuses. If you have not checked the fuses yet, then that is the best place to start.
