tranny X member?

I was just wondering when you Z a frame it moves the engine up so what do you do about the transmission X member when you do that?

Raise it up too At least the was the answer I was given; only makes sense though. As too how much you Z your frame will decide how much modifaction will need to be made to your tranny X member.

yeah, its a good idea to raise the tranny the same or close to what you z-ed. i z-ed 4", and also moved the 327/700r4 combo ahead 3" for distributor clearance, but then for the tranny crossmember, i actually got the auto one from ECE, flipped it upside down, and dropped the center portion 1&1/2" to make the tranny raised 4". I also just dropped the center as for room to run exhaust, in which i have true 2.5" duals all the way out the rear bumper and i lay body front to back(my exhaust guy is amazing)

ill have to get a pic sent to me(no pics on this computer) but its up in washington, 8 hrs from here, if you can make it up there, im sure hed love to do it. HE ran 2.5" duals with twister mufflers under the tranny crossmember, through the trailing arm crossmember, over the trailing arms, over the rear axle but under the bridge, then under/around the frame rails and out the back bumper... 5 pieces... something like 30 little bends per side, crazy, but works awesome

Sounds sweet! 8 hours is sure a drive, I may have to pass, but thanks. I plan on running 2.5 inch dual straight back over my tranny cross member (no Z) and through my trailing arm cross member and dump out some where after that.

It's pretty simple to make a crossmember if you need it raised. This one isn't for a Z'ed frame it's just a 350 to 700r4 conversion....
