I thought I would post a few pics of my pretty much finished 1970 GMC. This used to be a 2wd. I put a 1988 4wd frame under.

the frame hangs fairly low on her, but it works for me. overall i like what i see there, though not much of a gmc guy.

The bed's setting on the frame. I had to put a body lift under the cab just to bring it up in line with the bed.

The shoulder belts are out of a mid 80s full size Chevy.

I had to put extentions on the part of the belts that came through the seats. They weren't long enough. I would have to dig into the seat just to find them.

What are the shoulder belts out of? One of the board vendors sells a setup like that for $160. It's one of the many things on my have to have list for both our trucks.

Looks like a sweet ride. Don't see many 67-72 IFS 4x4's. Okay, actually, I'm pretty sure this is the first one I have seen. Would you do it again if you had to or go with an old straight axle frame?

I'd do it again. Even with a straight axle frame. I did this for the ride, and because it's something you don't see every day, a 67-72 IFS 4x4.

That's for sure. Other than the low hanging frame mid section who'd know it is not original? Was the wheel base the same? Sits nice and should ride real good.

It rides great. The wheel base was 2 inches longer. I made up for an inch in the wheel wells, and the bed sets away from the cab about an inch more than it should.

Ya know barn9 I didn't think to start taking pics until the cab was already swapped. I replaced the floor boards, rockers, cab corners. I even took the hump from the 88 and put it in this cab. I took a few pics of that stuff but not many. I started really taking pics when I had most of the body work done and started on the paint process. If anyone needs advice on the swap, I'll be more than happy to give any I can.

What about the engine and tranny???? Are they from the '88 truck? (5.7L w/ overdrive?)

The engine is a 350 from a 1988 G20 van, and the transmission was switched before I got the 88 truck, it's a TH350.
