well my name is harold. i own an 1989 gmc Sierra c1500 v8. it is defiently in need of help already put in new engine, transmission. and a bunch of other stuff in the engine compartment. i was wondering if anybody knows of any good way of fixing up the body though. there a bunch of small dings and then 2 big ones matching on either side near where the cab meets the bed.

Welcome to the board from Alabama. There are a lot of posts in the body and paint section of the forum, for more know how you may want to get a book or magazine with body work basics in it. The easiest way is to take it to your local body shop LOL. Or find a body shop that will let you watch them do some repair to give you an idea of what's involved. There may be a FAQ with some basics that has pictures, I'm not sure but there is almost everything here or a link to it. Basically you want to hammer out the dents from behind if possible, then smooth up with filler/bondo if it's not straight. Good luck.
