A few More questions
Thanks to all with the warm welcomes and the replies to my paint questions.
Here are a couple more: 1) Does anyone run 3 fuel tanks? I have two side-saddle, and the behind the seat. I want to replace the selector switch, but am having a tough time finding a 3-tank switch. Any ideas? 2) How can I tell if I have a large back window or a small? The truck has had a shell on it since new, but I want to reinstall the back window. 3) I have a 4x4 camper upgrade, I assume it's a large hump truck if I want to replace the carpeting. The truck is way cool, but my wife wont ride to Alaska with me if I don't do some interior work first. ![]() |

Re: A few More questions
I can't answer number one, but here is a pic to help #2. Small back windows, are well, small, like the pic, and the large back window takes up the whole back of the cab. For #3 pull the old carpet back. If the "hump" is bolted to the floor and looks like it can be removed it is a high hump. If it is "part of" the floor (no seams around it) then it is a low hump. Hope this helps ya.
Soooooooooo, are you saying the back of your cab has been cut off for a camper?

Re: A few More questions
small window vs. big window should be pretty obvious....this is a link to a pic I posted asking about wheels, but the is the size of a big window (although I believe if your truck is not a 67, its automatically a big window).
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=180727 I am pretty sure all 4x4's had the large hump to accomodate the transfer case linkage. I know I have seen someone running three tanks.....maybe you could bridge the rear tanks and treat them as one tank and use the cab tank as the second? (probably still have to individually fill each tank unless you took them out to fab something up to allow them to freely flow from one tank to the other).

Re: A few More questions
I think he is saying the back window was removed, and the camper formed a seal to the back of the cab.......could be wrong though....its happened before

Re: A few More questions
Yes sorry for the confusion... Only the back window was removed, and a shell was fitted to allow dogs free access between the bed and cab. I hate that.
Today I fill all three tanks seperatly. I don't see a need in changing it. if you look at Shelby's link posted above ( http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=180727 ) I have the same door on both sides of the truck. It's a fun time at a pumping station!!! Last edited by dubya; 11-21-2005 at 03:09 PM. |

I might be able to help you with the switch. I have a 67 parts truck with three fuel tanks and my plans are for using only the saddle tanks. I haven't looked at how this truck is plumbed but you are welcome to come by and take a look. I have the switch removed from the body but not the tanks. Check your pm's. Tim
