Just curious. Why did they stop making these carburetors?

Re: edelbrock q-jets
I don't know for sure but I'm guessing it was a cost thing. They had gotten totally out of hand on the price and let's face it most folks didn't like Q-jets anyway, much less enough to pay close to 500 bucks for one. Myself, I don't think there has ever been a better street carb made than a Q-jet. I own a Edelbrock Q-jet and love it.
I doubt they were big sellers and most probably venders quit ordering them for stock. So like everything else that is good at one time or another, it goes by the wayside to other technology.

Re: edelbrock q-jets
Wow, I dident know they stoped making them. They are the same carb no difference in the standard replacment version. The RPM model has a few tricks done to the transistion and idle circuts.
You can still get a Jet Performance Q-jet, or one Remand by Holley if your in the need. I got my Holley Q-jet for under $200 from checker auto. Choke had to be swaped from heat to electric, 2 minute job.
