Is it possible?

Dont know what came over me, bought a 2002 Avalanche running chassis, has the 4 wheel drive all the electronics, starts sounds good. Wheelbase looks very close to my 71 burb, some fram to body fabracation needed. What do yall think? is it possiible to make her better, faster, stronger?

Re: Is it possible?

Take some measurements
I have seen some 67-72 bodies on later model chassis setups. Great swap, best of both worlds IMO

Re: Is it possible?

I was thinking about buying a 95-6 Suburban from the local wrecking yard for the same swap, what years are yours? I think anything can be down, where there is a will, there is a way. I just don't want to spend 10K to end up with something that is not safe and or ugly. Let us know!

Re: Is it possible?

I already had new springs and a posi I found , and put them on . but this chassis has everything! disks front and rear, overdrive ,5.3, 4wd. It would be the perfect drivetrain for this old girl... if only it was'nt mustard yellow! I wonder if the 71 body will be lighter than that avalanche monster?

Re: Is it possible?

If I can put a stepside body on a C5 Vette roller, you can do this swap! Go for it. Don't be afraid of the a little cutting and welding. It'll be well worth it!

Re: Is it possible?

your pics of your hybrid are inspiring, I can't wait to start. If I could just finish the interior of my motorcoach my wife would lay off the bullwhip!
