Re: WooHoo!! Score!!
WOW, what do you figure you had in the Bago? Just wondering the value of the trade, as it leads to the amount of the great deal. If it was a 2-3k Bago, then you stole it, but if it was 15K Bago you may still have stole it! Anyways I do not know where I was headed with that, but it looks nice, how does it smoke the tires? I live in the desert country and do not find them that nice, great score and I agree on the wheels and chrome cowl, not sure I lke the air cleaner assembly, but that just me. I may have to convert my new 4X4 Blazer to 2wd after-all!!

Re: WooHoo!! Score!!
70rs/ss.. I was in the Bago way too much for here.. I bought it in July for $6000 put another $1500 in it.. then headed out for a month long road trip and got stuck in Pendleton Ore for a week, had to spend another $3500 to continue my trip.. So that puts me in it at $11,000..(I have seen them for sale from $9000-$12,000) plus my former girlfriend crunched the bago in Ft Bragg on our trip.. I would be lucky to get around $7 or $8k for it next spring..Can,t sell em here in the Winter.. Too soggy
Plus I wanted a Blazer.. So to me its all good!! With 3:73's and a close ratio muncie it smokes the tires at will.. understand the air cleaner.. I havent decided if I like it or not.. I'm thinking a 671 blower would be a good replacement.. If you decide to convert your 4X4 to 2WD and have any questions.. ask.. I have converted 6 of then in the last 20 years or so.. hotrodhomi... How many is a few Franklins?? Still smilin.. Livrat |

My apology for that, wasn't my intention. I haven't even bothered to list it for sale at this point.

Re: WooHoo!! Score!!
Nice. I'm glad someone on the board got tht ride. The pics he had on Craigslist weren't very good. If I remember correctly, the listing said it was fresh paint too! Can't wait to see it in person.

Re: WooHoo!! Score!!
Thanks all for the compliments..
Medicanman71.. yes louvered hoods look awesome.. But after all this is Washington (rain) I am thinking it may have to go too.. or build a water trap under it somehow or go for a cowl hood.. bouncytruck Yes the craigslist pictures were not the best and yes it does have new Viper blue PPG base coat clear coat paint on it.. I would like to meet you .. How is your mom and dad? have they sold the store yet? Come on over and check it out if you find yourself in the area hehehe.... like the front plate?? cant figure out if its pronounced. Lickem or Like em.. |

Looks good Livrat and sounds like you got it for a good/fair price
I'm in total agreement about the cowl and wheels... they have got to go, but that engine bay looks way too sweet. So what are you plans for it? Daily driver, weekend toy, or show rig? |

Re: WooHoo!! Score!!
Not quibling over the trade, ultimately it was your choice, and I am sure you could put it on ebay and recoup most if not all of the money you had in the bago, I was just curious of how sweat this deal was based on your personnal cash outlay. I have traded $1,000 cars for $4,000-$5,000 cars and sold them and counted the cash, so I was wondering if you had equal money in the Bago. From your post and the prices, I think you did great considering the likelyhood of recouping the $$$ in the bago by selling it and yeah, $13k for a 2wd Blazer is still good especially if you like it (and I do!!) BBC RULE!!

the louvered hood looks good on it, it would look better without the chrome cowl.

Re: WooHoo!! Score!!
Livrat - I'll need to put you in contact with the board member who will soon be the owner of my '69. He wants to convert it to 2wd and slam it to the ground.
My parents did sell the store. It closed on Thanksgiving weekend. The new owner, a Coos Bay local, is running the parts store in the front and an auto repair shop in the back (moved his current business.) He knocked out all the interior walls in the back half to maximize the space for the repair facility. They are enjoying retirement so far.

Re: WooHoo!! Score!!
Nice Blazer Mark, now what will you do with the 3/4 ton 4x4? If you know anyone that wants to buy a converted frame I have a nice one. Has dropped A arms and front coils as well as flip in back with 2" blocks. Sits pretty low but I was set on haveing a factory 2 wheel so I bought another one to get the frame and papers.
