What Brown and I have been doing
Hey guys been a while since I posted much so with the weekend being semi-dry(after 32 or so days of straight rain) and today being totally devoid of any rain I was able to polish Brown all up and get her out to take some pics. I adjusted my carb (lol just adjusted the idle fuel mixture), and found out that a shredded wire was the reason to my factory tach not working. And as for me, I gave my boss whom I've been working for at his repair shop (1 1/2 years or a little more) my two weeks notice last thursday so that I could start my hardcore training regime. I'll be working out twice a day and running twice (at least 4 miles round trip each time) and working my way upto working out three times a day and running 3 times a day. Crazy I know but unfortunately to pay for college I have to rely on the Navy's assistance in which I really wish I wouldn't have to. I'll be leaving in the middle of March for boot camp, and after boot camp I'll be in Nuke "A" School, in which by august I should be out for leave and hopefully if my officer package gets picked up, then I'll be off to college in early spring instead of another year and a half of Nuke School. I'm truly hoping that I get my officer package picked up first try (I'm going to be working my @ss off to make sure I have every chance of doing so), that way I'll be able to attend the college and special program I've been accepted into. For those of you who've heard of McPherson college, I got accepted into the college and their renowned automotive program. I really wanted to go, and the only way it was affordable was through the Navy and so, thats the main reason I joined up. Anyway, withought further ado here are the pics.
Also I am open to any comments, suggestions, or questions on my truck and what I am doing.

Re: What Brown and I have been doing
Ya know, I have never been a big stepper fan. Looking at your truck closely I finally realized why.
Most of the stepsides I ever saw that were customized were 81-87's . I just didn't like the 73-80 body lines on the bed with the 81-87 body line on the cab. Seeing yours and a couple of others on the forum has made me start to want a 73-80 stepside....

Re: What Brown and I have been doing
The truck looks great. I really like the new wheels over the spokes.......
McPherson College has a great restoration program. Have you checked with the admissions office for financial aid? That may be a better way to go than to join the navy for 6 years to get money for school. That may be worth checking into, even if you have to get a student loan to pay for it. When I checked into the school (over 10 years ago, now), one of the professors ran a local body shop, and employed a few students there. Cost of living should be fairly inexpensive, as well.

Re: What Brown and I have been doing
I remember when I was in Navy boot camp on the day we were getting our dog tags made.... The CC peeled off all of the "Nukes" and took them away for a little while. When they came back, all of them had volunteered for submarine duty.
I went to conventional ET school in Orlando, the nuke school was there, too. Good luck, it's tough. Make sure you have all your guarantees in writing in your contract. BTW, sweet truck.
