Side trim question

I want to replace the side trim on my 77 . I know I cant get the yellow trim anymore but I can buy the trim with the black insert and paint it yellow . Has anyone used the trim that LMC sells and is it any good ?
Thanks ,Frank

Re: Side trim question

My uncle used it on this truck:

He wasn't too happy with the long bed pieces but I think it worked out pretty well. He just bought a set from GM for another truck (at least all but about 4 pieces that are obsolete) and spent almost $1k.

Re: Side trim question

Frank the LMC stuff isn't bad if your not really picky. I bought a couple of pieces just to see if it matched the GM stuff. No way, not even close. If you replace the entire set it won't show so bad.

You can paint the insert or use 3M vinyl tape. The make a color that is very close to the 77 color.
