New from Casper, Wyoming

Hello all! Would just like to introduce myself as I am new on the board. I'm mike & have just started a project on my moms' 66 c-10. She loves this truck. It has been restored in the past, (10 years ago) & has sat for a couple of years due to a blown up 283. Everything is stock on it. I ran accross this great site to help me out with this project as I am clueless in some areas of it. I have been into mid 80's to early 90's Shelby turbo dodge cars over the last couple of years, so I am rusty at the V8 stuff. The knowledge I gain here will aid me in getting my moms' truck going again as well as my 72 chevelle SS.

Re: New from Casper, Wyoming

Welcome, good to have another Wyomingite on here. I was raised in Sublette County Wy. You'll have no problem getting all the info. you can stand right here. Are you doing a complete frame-off or just paint and rebuild? Original Wy. truck? 4 or 2 wheel drive? Nevermind on the last question, what was I thinking... C10.

Re: New from Casper, Wyoming

Thanks for the welcome all! I'm glad to find such a great forum to join. Lots of good info here. Project is a native to Wyo. '66 C-10 Long, wide box. Plans are to get a reliable, long lasting drivetrain into it & then some paint. I'm sure I'll find other areas of the truck that will need some attention once I get into it. Lol! I hope to do this & maybee get 300 flywheel HP while not exceeding the budget too much. Some Wyo. people hugh? Small world. I went to kelly walsh & CC as well.

My chevelle will get attention after the truck is done. It was my high school hotrod. It has a 396/TH400 that need to be gone though. Mostly restored car in good shape. Untill now, I've been waiting for a french girl to move nextdoor & fix it for me like in the 1985 movie "better of dead" with John Cusack: http://64.233.179.104/search?q=cache...s&ct=clnk&cd=6 Lol! I've decided that will never happen, so I'm doing the chevelle next.

I'm a GM guy foremost, but if anyone here ever needs any help or advice with any dodge, chrysler, plymouth car or van from 84-93, with a 2.5 L, 2.2L, turbo or not---I can probably help you out, just PM me. You wouldn't believe how easy it is to get 300 wheel HP & even more torque out of the turbocharged versions of these four cylinder, single over-cam engines on pump gas. Then imagine that engine inside a little, light car like the Omni or horizon (2200 lbs) or a charger(2400 lbs). You'd never think front wheel drive could be that much fun! Anyways, i'll quit & say thanks again!
