Quick oil filter question

I forgot what size oil filter I need and my truck is at my parent's house. It is the 10067353 Goodwrench crate 350. I think it is a Fram PH5, but not sure. Can someone help out?

Wix 5101 here. After looking at the Fram insides compared to Wix I'll stick with a Wix. http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/oilfilterstudy.html

Agreed, buy yourself something else. Not Fram.

Re: Quick oil filter question

Jeez here we go with the FRAM bashing been using FRAM oil filters for all my cars for the last 35 years with no problems so I can't understand why some backyard electrician comes up with his theory and it's the last word in oil filters

Re: Quick oil filter question

Fram is fine for normal vehicles with normal oil pressure but if you got a high-performance vehicle with above average oil pressure and especially if you block the bypass to filter oil all the time, a Fram PH5 will collapse internally (personal experience) which causes rapid oil pressure loss. I run the Wix or Carquest (made by Wix) brand. Here is a test of filters to help you along also: http://www.frankhunt.com/FRANK/corve...ilfilters.html

Re: Quick oil filter question

I love wix, but i have also been known to use the Mobil 1 filters or the Bosch premiums (They are the same internally, but Bosch is $4-$5 cheaper!)

Re: Quick oil filter question

I use to run a PH5 on my 350 in my 83.

I live on a farm. We have John Deere 4020's, Versatile 960, 6030's, 4440's, a 9600 combine, 3 grain trucks, 1 semi, 3 service trucks, and some miscellanious equipment. Everything runs Fram filters including fuel. This equipment is 30, 40 and some even close to 50 years old and never had any problems. Hours of revving, high temps, dirty conditions, and harsh abuse and have never had an engine fail due to oil or fuel problems. I guess that Fram will always be on my stuff.

But......I don't run high performance engines either. If I did, I may look at something else. But Fram seems to be a reliable filter for what I play and work with.
