Angry Hoping your day is better than mine

Well it was a beautiful day here in West TN, Temp is in the mid 70's, a light
breeze, and I had a easy day at work, so I said what the heck, took a 1/2
day of vacation, left at 9am, and headed to the parts store, I thought this
would be the pwrfect day to tackle that 2wd H2O pump, I went and got a
pump and headed home, 45 minutes later, wrong pump so I clean up &
head back to the parts store, took the old one this time, got another and
returned home, it was almost lunch so I took a break, checked the board,
and ate a bite, back out to the 2wd, so I finish it up around 1:30 or so, I
test run it, no leaks, so I put up all my tools, started her up for a drive &
she wouldn't move, hmmm, low on tranny fluid maybe?, so I topped it off
to no avail, she still won't move, I'm thinking ok the tranny is bad, I have
not owned it long enough to know much about it, about that time I hear
a whistling noise, pop the hood and I'm spraying H2O everywhere, it looks
like it's coming from behind the fan pulley So how was your day ???

Re: Hoping you day is better than mine

YIKES! Sounds like you need a Muncie 4spd in place of the auto tranny and a ZZ572 big-block to replace the water pump issues. Try explaining that to the Misses.

Well sorry you had a bad day. Mine wasn't great either. I just walked around Acadia all day long in 65 degree weather. SO now I'm tired, stinky, sweaty, and tired. But the weather was too good to be true.

Re: Hoping you day is better than mine

At least you're outside working on your truck. I'm stuck here in my office all day. A bad day working on your truck is better than a good day at work!

Re: Hoping you day is better than mine

Well mine started off at 4am with a lovley sounding alarm clock. Then off for a 98 mile drive to the job site only to get rained out and a 98 mile back home in 8am traffic. Then I head out into the shop strike up a fire and start working on the Trazer project painting the rest of the suspention parts and re-installing the fuel and brake lines. So not to bad out their but it would have been better if I was doing all this work to my own project but oh well. Then I went to the post office and got some mail and one item was a how to lead video I have been waiting for. I want to get into lead work and less filler so I popped that in the DVD and just sat back for a bit. Now it is time to get back out to the shop and get to work again.

Re: Hoping you day is better than mine

Sorry you're having so much bad luck with your toys. I just wish I could get out in the shop and do something even if it was wrong. I've got two more weeks in the sling then evaluation. Next Monday they start "aggressive" therapy. I guess that means that no matter how hard I cry they will keep on twisting my arm. Road trip planned for Sat. and going to have to hold off on anymore buying until I sell something. Take care and call me if I can be of any help.

Tough break bud.

Was a steller day here @ 4:00 also, so I decided to get the green blazer out of storage.
Sorry LUV but I drove over, pulled off the cover, hooked up the battery and it started right up. (once fuel got there)
Drove home, picked up the family and went for a wonderful hour ride.

So yeah, my day was better than mine, your hope came true today.

Keep things is perspective--ie. how about the folks in Tenn who were hit by the tornado---just imagine how your day could have been then say a little thanks and a little hope that those folks can recover their lives a bit. Makes our crappy days look fabulous!!

last tuesday i was getting on the freeway when all of a sudden my truck popped into neutral. Nope I was still in drive. Must be the linkage came loose again. nope tight as a nats a$$ on a lemon wedge, must be tranny fluid, nope, right on the full mark, must be the modulator, nope replaced it and same thing, hmmm must be a dirty screen, nope clean as a whistle. Anyway I'm pulling it out tonight, im pretty sure it the forward pump, and im thinking pretty hard about replacing it with a TH400. Good luck to ya....actually to us both.

Re: Hoping you day is better than mine

Replaced the H2O pump again today, got the tranny to work in reverse
only so I guess it's bad, was going to start on the brakes when we had
a funny smell come from under the hood, the push in oil filter & the air
cleaner oil bath? tube thingy were puking what looked like mud, so you
guessed it, now it needs a motor, I guess my $1200 2wd Blazer was not
as good of a deal after all, oh well, my Roadster budget just got inflated.

You can give the Roadster to me, then I can rid you of your troubles. Whats the story on the 67 C-30, anyway?
