Carb Question
A friend of mine recently ordered one the Jet Streetmaster Stage 1 quadrajets from Summit. He's ran it now for about two months and says it works great. He's about to sell that truck and asked me if I wanted the carb for my truck. My immediate answer was YES but I'm not sure if it will work on mine. Just from looking at them mine is just like his with the exception that his does not have the "gray mixture solenoid" that sits on top of the carb and mine does. He seems to think everything will be fine and that I can just leave the wires off. Can any of you guys tell me if this will work out? Is it ok to just disconnect the wire to the solenoid and leave it hanging or what should I do with it? My truck is the 85 in my sig.

Re: Carb Question
If you are talking about the connector that sits at about 8 o'clock on the carb when viewed from above, you can remove it. My '86 uses the same carb as the '85, and I have the same carb on my truck. Stage I #36001 truck quadrajet from Summit. I bought it about 6 weeks ago.

Re: Carb Question
When we put an edelbrock carb on my dads truck, it had a notice that said not to use to replace the 80s model quadrajets because of the electricle plug. ive never tried it but this is what it said.

The Edelbrock 1904, an emissions legal quadrajet sold by Edelbrock until just recently, eliminated the wire. Slonaker |
