Hey guys, I am going to be replacing my steering gear, one question. Stock replacement or AGR gear? Anyone heard anything one way or the other?
Thanks

Re: New Steering Gear??

I think Swervin has an AGR. You might get his opinion.

AGR is overpriced IMO.

Have yours rebuilt by these guys http://westtexasoffroad.homestead.com/index.html

Great service!

Re: New Steering Gear??

I have an AGR unit, I got it because it was cheaper than any other rebuild.
The AGR unit for the 73-87's (67-72 for that matter) are only rebuilt. There isn't anything "extra" you can do to the box, so if you find a good rebuilt one for the price, get it.

I thought the AGR had a better turning capability in that you could turn the wheel less and get same amount of turn in the wheels? I know you're not going to be able to turn the truck in a smaller radius.
