Blazer Value

This is not a for sale post, recently I had to get an appraisal for insurance and they based it on the two 72 blazers on e-bay at the time, this pissed me off for starters because mine is a 70 which due to production #'s should be more rare I would think and secondly because my rockers boxes are perfect and all body panels including doors are totally rust free the ebay trucks are both a little rusty. Now where could I go to get a better idea what my truck is worth?

Re: Blazer Value

I wouldn't think that Ebay would be an acurate assesment since it is an auction. I would look at trucks for sale on collectorcartraderonline, dealsonwheels, and craig'slist.

Additionally, I don't think that the lower production numbers of a '70 increase the value. In fact, from what I've seen, the '71s and '72s with disk brakes tend to be more desireable. I'm not sure if this truely increases the value however. I think the most valuable would be #1 in production in '69, but who knows if it is still around.

Re: Blazer Value

Too bad that is backwards. It shows the value of a 4x4 being higher than a 2wd.

Makes since to me that a 4 wheel drive would be worth more, Definetly more valuable in my book despite Lower production numbers for the 2 wheel drives.

Welcome to the board, trailzen.
Sounds like a really sweet blazer ya got up there.

Post pics when you get the chance, it'll help us assess the overall condition.

NADA still list's out truck I believe.
Might get your insurance company to look into Hemmings as well.
Or lastly, get it appraised.

Agreed, another option is insurance through Hagerty (Not sure who u have)
But you can say $20K, just need pic's to help prove it, I think they told me
that up to $25K is ok'd on just your pic's, no appraisel is required till after u
pass that thresh hold, but it's been almost 2 years since I spoke to them, I
would not take my word for it, my insurance company insured mine for $15K
and didn't even have to see it, but not all companies are even close to alike

Re: Blazer Value

As with most vehicles, 4wds are more expensive off the showroom floor. You're right, the 2wds have escalated in value due to lower supply.

Re: Blazer Value

NADA has a classic/Antique vehicle price structure that my county cleark likes to use when taxing vehicles being brought into Ky. It is extremely high.
