Re: Wheel Width?
16x7 I would think... never heard of puttin' 235s on a 16 though. I know factory wheels are 15x7 and stock size tires are 235/75s.

Re: Wheel Width?
My friends stock 86 3/4 ton suburban came with 235/85R16 on it. Do you think 16x8 would work?

Re: Wheel Width?
A 8" wheel is a bit too wide. He should go with a 6" or 7" wide wheel (like cliffsta suggested.) My dad's 3/4 ton camper special had 16" split rims. Trying to find a shop to work on those rims were nearly impossible.

Re: Wheel Width?
Like boxrodz suggested, i would go with a 6 or 7 inch. If you are set on the 8's, i would go with at the very least a 255 or 275 tire. Prefferably 275. That's somewhere around a 9 inch tread width, so that would be just right for looks on that sort of setup. Not exactly going with the low profile/lowered truck look.

Re: Wheel Width?
I'm runnin 255/70s all around on 15x8 wheels. Slonaker has the same setup (255/70s on 15x8s), also. AAMOF he recommended it to me. I like it so much I suggest it to you.
