Re: Rocker installation
This project is in my near future also - exactly how did you remove the rusty originals? Is it just drilling out spot welds, any cutting involved?

Re: Rocker installation
I just drilled the spot welds out. It took maybe an hour and a half for both sides together. Just keep in mind if you buy repo rockers. They are usually harder than original and are a B#### to make conform. That's why I opted for NOS they were easy to put on and no fighting. Oh yeah be careful drilling the spot welds, You dont want to drill completely into the backing plate if you dont have to. A 5/15 bit does well and keeps you from having extra holes in the backing plate from going through.
Oh yeah I looked at the rockers as compares with the fenders and the fenders will have to be pushed up to match, but the cab corners will have to get about 1/2 inch removed to line up properly. |
