How to tell a c-20 from a c-30
Hello,
We just bought a 1980 chevy truck with a dump body from a salvage yard. According to the vin number it is a 1980 Chevrolet two wheel drive C-20 cab and chasis built in Baltimore. I am having a hard time getting brake parts for the truck. The parts coming off the truck do not match what is listed. The truck has dual rear wheels and eight lug wheels. Can anyone tell he how to tell the difference between a c-20 and c-30? Also, can anyone give me a clue how to find rotors, calipers, and flexible brake lines with out using the vehicle description? Thanks, Karl K and E Services |

Im not sure if I have ever seen a 3/4 ton dually. I would bet its had a cab change if anything. I would look up one ton parts and see if that helps you get the right parts.

Re: How to tell a c-20 from a c-30
I was about to say, check to see if it's a corp 14 bolt or Dana 70. Haven't heard of P-20. I'll also bet cab change.
look on the axle tubes- if you see little slag chunks on the tube in a location other than where the springs are mounted (+- about 4"), i bet the axle has been swapped too- the 3/4 and 1 ton frames are i believe 8 (confirm?) inches narrower to accomodate the extra tires with minimal flaring.
