Is my 85 blazer kind of rare
My blazer came from the factory with a 305 carburated backed by a 4spd. and a factory locker. I live in Nebraska not to many in my area but the ones that are around I've never seen another with a factory 4spd.
I was just wondering some input would be great than Hart. |

Re: Is my 85 blazer kind of rare
I call it rare, but not valuable. The 4 speed was the base trans, but most were ordered with auto. Yours was prolly ordered by someone with the limited slip. (locker? are you sure) I would guess it also had very few options. I am doing a 4 speed conversion on my 87 right now.

I have seen strip model blazers with 305's and 4 speeds and ordered with the factory limmited slip diff for CO State wildlife vehicles. It's not rare just not as common as the 305/350 with the 700R4 Option. Sweet Blazer though I' love to have one in my collection.....PICTS??

Re: Is my 85 blazer kind of rare
Im working on it right now some body my dads first new car he ever bought has lots of sentimental value to me so the both of us are going to get her back on the road the 305 took a dump 170K mile I didnt think it was bad for a 305 so we are going to drop in a rebult 327 I had laying around. get the body all straight and give her some new paint and interior. then I hope to give it a couple of inches of lift drive it through the winter months. as far as the locker goes the sticker on the glove box says it "Factory locker" so it might not even have it it might be B/S. Its a silverado has a/c chromish gauge bezel if you can call plastic coated crap chrome. chrome shifter. the velour buckets. tilt. power rear window "a piece of crap I might add". I dont know I was looking at it on the net and seen the 4spd was base so That kind of through it out I would agree probably rare but not valuable.
Thanks for your input gentleman I apreciate it Hart |

Re: Is my 85 blazer kind of rare
Definately rare, but not real valuable to most. Myself, I would love to find that blazer. I have very rarely even heard of a silverado with a 4 speed. That is what I am converting mine to. All the options with a stick! Got any pics?

Re: Is my 85 blazer kind of rare
As far as the factory locker, grab a pic of thet sticker if you can. I have never seen it called a locker on this era k5. Do you have the orig owners manual? In the manual for all I have seen, there is no mention of a "locker", only limited slip. Where are you located? My only guess is that it could be a dealer installed option.

Re: Is my 85 blazer kind of rare
Not neccessarily rare but not real common either.
I had an '85 that was a 4speed. It had the quad headlights but no AC, PW or PL. Other than that it was the same as a Silverado. Might have been a Silverado? For the locker, I had a '86 1/2 ton Diesel 4x4. On the option sheet it said 3.08 locker or locking rear. Can't remember exactly but it said something about locking.
