carrier bearing concerns

I have a 71 lwb that I'am about to back half and was wondering what to do with the two piece drive shaft. If I keep it what are some things I should look out for as far as getting the right pinion angle. I eventually want to put a short bed on this thang. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd just make sure the pinion angle is as close as possible to the way it should be and also I wouldn't cut out where the carrier bearing sits, right behind that is where I would start the back half. I would also look into redoing the bottom of the carrier bearing location so that it doesn't sit below the frame. there are pics on ifcustom.com somewhere, can't remember where but their there, under a 60-72 chevy body style truck

Re: carrier bearing concerns

You should get rid of it and go to a 1 piece driveshaft.
