Hi. Me and the Tank.
Just a quick Hi and couple of the Tank I'm doing.
85 3+3 duely 454 BB auto. Power everything. Man is this thing BIG. It's my neighbors next door and thank God he has a shop as well. Too much stuff to stash in my place. I got myself into this as a simple repaint but you know it's always more than that and as usual, the more I took apart the worse it got. Mainly rust in the door and jamb seams,1 rocker, most of the cowel/firewall junction, little under the rear flairs which were as always, smashed. I'm not a professional just an idiot who likes this abuse. My midlife crisis was to buy a paint gun and paint sports cars instead of buy one.Just like I misunderstood my father who told me to get a job IN THE air conditioning and I got one IN air conditioning. I know several members here from other boards and will try to not bother you too much but I am fairly knowledgable at paint and will contribute as much as I know. Mike K. |

Re: Hi. Me and the Tank.
Thanks guys.
Yeah, it's a handfull and I'll probably end up having to pull the cab into 1 bay and seal the door around the frame and the bed in the other side to spray it. I'll jamb it and do the interior paint first. Don't think I can open the doors enough once it's inside. It's going Viper Red so at least it's a sold color. I'm using SPI products on the whole truck. REALLY good stuff especially their epoxy. Thats Southern Polyurethane if your interested. I still have a LONG way to go but I'm learning a lot about the body metal work I've not got into before which will be good practice befor tackling the 69 Super Bee. |
