Another Barrett Jackson truck…..
I just received my Sneak Peek from Barrett Jackson and came across this….
So what’s my first bid on this little baby? http://www.barrett-jackson.com/carli...LotNumber=1537 Sorry I don’t have anything here at work to resize the pictures with. Maybe someone can post a small photo for me.

Re: Another Barrett Jackson truck…..
375 hp sounds kinda week for a NA 383 stroker. Not thrilled w/ the truck, but it looks nice. Doesn't look anything out of the ordinary at all.

I wonder if that's the AIM/Chassis Tech grill in it. I like those grilles but they are very expensive and heard that they are hard to install also!

The write up says is one of ten custom built, numbered cars. Any idea who built them and if that actually makes any difference? Looks like mostly off-the shelf "custom" parts. Curious to see what it fetches at auction.

LMC I believe, but I think they only offer chrome. "lmc.com" should get you a online catalog.

Re: Another Barrett Jackson truck…..
The only bumper with custom driving lights that I have ever seen have been for the 73-80 models. Goodmark used to sell them. I have never seen one in the 81-87 style bumpers.

Re: Another Barrett Jackson truck?..
Ditch the side gills, the front spoiler, the rear cab and tailgate faux spoiler mess, the sunroof, the grill........I'll pass, especially for the stupid Barrett- Jackson money that they'll get for it. Chevy got the design so right when they were new that when radical mods are done to them, they start looking like a 1980s style mini-truck.
On the subject of B-J, I personally feel that they have destroyed the car hobby. As much as I can't stop watching the show because I love cars and am anxious to see what's coming up next on the block, I have to cringe when I see cars like an "Eleanor" Mustang CLONE sell for 150K. I get sickened when they show the bidding wars go on between two rich yuppies who really have no clue that they are butt-raping each other by over-bidding on a over-valued car. The idiot with the Ferrari hat who bid 2 million on the '54 Olds concept car a few years ago took the cake. He told the other bidder that he was going home with the car no matter what, and the other guy got pissed and bid him into the stratosphere, and he wound up paying about 500K more than if he would have kept his mouth shut. I guess what makes me the most upset is that I can't buy a running 67-69 Camaro anymore for under 15K. They want 10K for junk parts cars that 10 years ago we bought just for the mouldings for $300 complete. 73-87 trucks are the best deal around, and I hope this profit-taking attitude doesn't ruin them as well. Sorry for the rant. ________ Find Headshop Last edited by chevyrestoguy; 02-18-2011 at 10:57 AM. |

Re: Another Barrett Jackson truck…..
the lmc ones will fit. i would bet that that is an lmc bumper repainted or a stocker shaved and lights fabbed into it. also look at the work they did on the back of the cab kinda cool. i am not a fan of the grill or the vette style fenders but it is a sweet truck overall i wounder how much it will bring. i know at that state it is no were near its original but it is cool they started with the custem delux instead of the silverado .

Without the grills on the fenders, the wild graphics, sunroof, exposed tailpipes, etc. Then this Truck would be awesome in my opinion! |
