Carpet holddown question
It seems to me when I pulled rear rubber mat out of burb several yrs ago there were chrome hold down strips at front and rear of mat. I want to install new carpet kit now and not sure how to secure it and trim out. (can't find chrome strips I remember, probably too rust to keep at the time)

Re: Carpet holddown question
I think you are refering to the door sills. I have those, I need the strips about 4 ft long that hold down the rear carpet piece across the wood floor in the back of my burb. Blazers might have the same pieces.

Re: Carpet holddown question
I'm not sure if they make a replacement piece or not. You can make your own. Go to you local hardware store and get a 1/2 or 3/4" piece of flat aluminum or stainless. Just drill the holes where you want them. Look around the hardware store, you'd be suprised at the stuff you can find. All it takes is a little creativity.

Re: Carpet holddown question
Try this thread here for dimensions for the front carpet strip... I can't find pics of my rear carpet strip but it is stamped the same as the door sills are but as you said it's close to 4' long. It has a "dimple" in the center where the clamshell door latches would go...
