All the new guys
Seems a rash of new guys have showed up in the last week or two... and quite a few longhorn owners too. (I've gotten PM's from a couple who haven't posted yet....fellow longhorn brothers)
Just wanted to say hey there, and jump on in on the fun, don't take anything too personally, (I have an odd sence of humor personally) and lets keep it cool. you'll meet ppl on here that'll make you laugh, and some that'll make you wanna cry (hopefully in a good way?) Anywyas... .weelcome to the forums... lets have some fun... |

Re: All the new guys
I just saw your site for the first time. I had no idea that my Sierra Grande was a limited run, I just thought they added a camper shell to a standard fleet truck.
Thanks for the info, by the way. I'll hang onto my badges and emblems when I take them off for paint.

Re: All the new guys
Thanks for the welcome and thanks to all who have posted their truck experiences here. I have learned so much more about my truck in 1 hour of reading than I ever imagined.

Re: All the new guys
Hey Thanks! I will be a PITA when it comes to asking questions, so I'm glad ya'll are here. I just recently bought my truck ('68 SWB Custom) that I have been looking for many a year!
It is freakin' sweet! I wish I could figure out how to post a damn pic and I would show ya'll. BTW, my truck was an original 327 truck, but somewhere between the original owner and me... it morphed into a GM performance 350. Man, would I have liked to have that 327 back!!!! Why people do what they do is sometimes beyond me. Later, Jeff |

Re: All the new guys
Thanks for the welcome! It's going to be great to have this site around as I start my first truck project. Already it's helped tremendously, and even saved some money as I've found great links to catalog sites, FAQ's, etc.
Thanks again, and I'm looking forward to spending time at work checking out the threads. |

Re: All the new guys
Longhorns??? Yeah...we use them to hold up all those trees that are falling down out here. This was just the first one to hit castiron9's Longhorn canopy (topper for you Easterners). You should see it now...more pics to follow when it gets light! Sorry castiron9...another big storm coming in tonight!

My truck was stolen twice from the previous owner and recovered coming back from Mexico. With your location, do you employ any extra security on your truck? Bill in SD

Re: All the new guys
Bill in SD,
Considering my location and my proxsimity to the border my 67 GMC sits in my backyard behind a locked 6' ceder fence. Then again my Porsche 928 and my Mercedes coupe sit in front of my house in the street and in my driveway. At least I have my priorities straight!!!

Re: All the new guys
Thanks for the welcome! As a young 17 year old guy in the forums, i've been learning a lot. I mostly learned everything from truckin' magazine, internet sites, and just being out in the scene. so far i have owned 3 mini trucks, all custom. one was totally shaved, which was my mazda b2200, one was partially shaved with a homemade rollpan, my s10, and now i have a 92 b2600i mazda that is getting sold asap.
Now i know why they say, "real men wear bowties" this truck, my '70 longbed, is the baddest thing i've driven!! with its 350 combo and everything, it'll tear up the streets (ha ha ha) but seriously, when i bag it... it WILL be tearing up the streets, or at least the reflectors!! we'll catch y'all down the road!

Re: All the new guys
just tell her that you could be spending the money on women, wine, and song... and an expensive engine will keep you safely anchored at home.

If I take Liz's advice, the cost to build my truck just doubled. OUCH!
