Source for interior pillar moulding
Do you guys know of a source for the A and B pillar plasting moulding that will fit in my '84 C10? It appears as though LMC doesn't sell the moulding, and I've searched under a bunch of different topics, but haven't had any luck turning any up. Please help!

Re: Source for interior pillar moulding
Thanks. I found the front pillar trim pieces, but couldn't find the ones that go in the corners of the rear of the cab (where the seatbelt hangers and coat hooks are). I need one front and one back, as two of mine are broken in multiple places.

Do a search by description and use interior pillar moulding. They will all be black (most likely) and will need to be dyed to match your interior. I say most likely, as I bought some from them and they were blue. Oh, and searching by year will narrow down the list.

Re: Source for interior pillar moulding
Thanks! They have them listed in pairs. I'll call and see if they'll just sell me one of each.

Re: Source for interior pillar moulding
Just left the store (Classic Parts of America) (Had a truck club meeting there today) and they have those rear pillar mouldings on hand. I am looking at their catalog right now and they are listed under part numbers 21-916 and 21-918.

Re: Source for interior pillar moulding
Piecesparts,
Thanks for the info. I searched the part numbers and found them. I saw that part description when I went to the website on whiskey's advicethe other day, but I wasn't sure that was the right part since there is no pic available on the website. I ordered their print catalog while I was there. The fact that they sell them separately will be helpful. Thanks again! |

Where is Henderson ? I just bought an 85 for parts and it might have what you need . I think it has a Red interior . If it has the part you need , you can have it . Which side do you need ? I can check it for you . Frank

Re: Source for interior pillar moulding
Have any junkyards nearby? I figure if you order them, they will probably not match right up with the correct color, and you'll end up dyeing them. You might want to see if you can find a good pair off of a junk truck and just take them off.

Re: Source for interior pillar moulding
Color match is the first obstacle, the second one is the fact that these pieces get brittle with age. the first indication is that the bottom screw holes break out and then they do not fit well. Watch fot that in the slavage yards.

Re: Source for interior pillar moulding
Wow, Frank. That's a nice offer. I need the molding for the passenger side rear "B" pillar and the driver side front "A" pillar. Color isn't really an issue as I am changing the color of the interior and exterior of the truck, so I am dying all the trim anyway (unless the base color affects the final color after dying. I haven't had any experience with this particular technique yet.)
Henderson is in Northeast Texas near Longview and Tyler. Let me know what you find out and if I can pay shipping or meet you somewhere or something. I called the local junkyards, and amazingly neither of the two in town have a truck of this vintage. I found that extremely difficult to believe, but oh well. |

Re: Source for interior pillar moulding
I am sorry that it took this long for me to get a look at the truck but I wanted to look at it in the daylight . The front drivers pilar molding has a hairline crack running from the lower screw and I couldnt tell about the passenger rear pillar but they are there. How far from Waco are you ? I might be going to Waco this week . Frank

Re: Source for interior pillar moulding
Unfortunately, I'm about 4 hrs from Waco. Thanks for looking, though. I'm still working on some other stuff, so if you find yourself headed to East Texas in the future, give me a holler.
