Window squirters on all the time?
My wipers/washer system was working fine, but now the squirters are always on. No matter where I set the switch, it just pumps out fluid until there is no more, and even when empty, the wipers are slow since the pump is pumping. Not sure if this is a common problem, but hope to get a good starting point before I throw parts at it. I suspect the wiper switch, but not sure. This is an 84 with cruise and delay wipers on the column. Any info would be great. Thanks.
Terry

Re: Window squirters on all the time?
My 84 did that. Mine was the result of the cam mechanism in the pump hanging up. I tried repairing the pump, it worked for a while and starting the same routine.

Re: Window squirters on all the time?
I get that sometimes. Infrequent enough that I thought it was the switch. All of my switches are goofy.

Re: Window squirters on all the time?
I checked it out yesterday, and it seems the white gear/cam is just worn away on a few teeth, so it gets stuck. At least I know how to fix it it now, it was driving me nuts! Thanks for the input.

Me too. Now that's one switch I won't need to replace. Thanks-

Re: Window squirters on all the time?
You may have to rebuild the pump/park switch on the wiper motor. They had problems with those, so there is a kit out there to repair it.
