Blazer backseat
Hi from the California high desert! I'm a new member (Duaine), but have been a frequent visitor ever since I stumbled accross this awesome site. My first vehicle was a 71 K5 Blazer & still own it 11 years later. It's pretty cherry. Fairly new crate 350, 350 Turbo, rear end, paint & interior all done in 01. I'll post some pics a little later (so I can clean it up a little).
Now to my question. I am missing the back seat & was wondering if I should search for a original (which I've had trouble finding) or use a newer model Yukon/Sub 3rd row??? I'm not much of a welder, but have a freind I could bug. Any suggestions/comments would be much appreciated. Thanks! |

Re: Blazer backseat
Welcome to the board from the Pacific Northwest.
There are options other than the original. Several guys are running the Yukon seats. In my opinion, it looks good, but only if you use similar seats in the front. Beard makes a bench seat that can look nice in the back of a blazer. Can't wait to see pics of your rig.

Re: Blazer backseat
Welcome - good luck on figuring out the seat question. I've never researched that issue before.

Re: Blazer backseat
First of all
As far as a back seat, you see them on evil-bay quite often. Shipping can kill you then, but there is no need to weld or fit anything. The 3rd row seat can be nice, but can be more expensive. I am going for the third row seat since my fronts are out of a 2004 C-3500 and match very nicely. |

Re: Blazer backseat
Thanks for all the quick replies! I knew I'd like this site.
I have the original seats in the front, so I think I'm better off trying to find an original back seat. I have a LMC catalog that sells a nice rebuild kit for it. Please let me know if you see one for sale (hopefully close to Southern Cali). Thanks again & I'll try to post the pics of the Blaze this weekend... |

Re: Blazer backseat
If you find one out of your area, you can ship them via greyhound fairly reasonably. I had one shipped from KS to WA for $35 about 5 years ago.

Re: Blazer backseat
isn't the 67-72 suburban backseat the same seat with just different brackets?

Re: Blazer backseat
I thought if the second seat, in a burb, was the short one, it was the same as a blazer?

I'll have to take a look @ the burb next time I'm up to the shop. I think it's contingent on whether the burb was a 2 or a 3 seat-er. Last edited by vtblazer; 03-03-2007 at 12:37 PM. |
